EFBOND™ Structural and Semi-Structural Adhesives

Available in one-and two-component formulas, EFBOND™ Structural and Semi-Structural Adhesives offer superior shear and peel strength, are heat- and impact-resistant, and may be used to bond a wide variety of substrates.

Typical applications include doors, tailgates, hoods, lift gates, outer roof panels, rear decks and roof bows.

EFBOND™ Structural and Semi-Structural Adhesives are available in these Technologies:

  • Acrylics
  • Elastomerics
  • Epoxies
  • Modified Polyvinylchlorides (PVCs)
  • Urethanes

EFBOND™ Trim Adhesives

EFBOND™ Trim Adhesives provide consistent bonds between dissimilar substrates — including aluminum and other metals, various plastics, textiles and wood.

They are used in interior applications (e.g., carpets, door panels, headliners and instrument panels) as well as in exterior areas (e.g., headlamps, sun roofs and taillamps).

Available EFBOND™ Trim Adhesive Technologies include:

  • Epoxies (including one-component and two-component reactives)
  • Hot melts (EVAs, polyamides and polyproplyenes)
  • Hot melt moisture cures
  • Hot melt pressure sensitives
  • Pumpable butyls
  • Urethanes (including one-component and two-component formulas)
  • Waterbornes

EFBOND™ Automotive Panel Adhesives

Formulated for use in almost all interior trim areas, EFBOND™ Automotive Panel Adhesives include:

One- and Two- Component Waterbased Vacuum-Forming Adhesives

  • High heat resistance: Resist bridging in high-stress (e.g., deep draw) areas
  • Low VOCs: Less than 10%; environmentally friendly
  • Long pot life: Sprayable up to eight hours after mixing
  • Low activation temperatures: From 180°-200°F (82°-93°C)
  • Multiple applications: For vinyl wrap applications, door panel shells and instrument panels
  • Bond a variety of substrates: These include ABS, thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO), vinyl and wood fiber

One-Component Reactive Hot Melt Moisture Cures

  • High green strength
  • Low activation temperatures: From 250°F (120°C)
  • High-strength bonds: Up to 1,600 psi
  • Excellent low-temperature flexibility: Remain flexible down to -20°F (-29°C)
  • Multiple applications: For carpet inserts, clip bonding, edge folding, headliners and headliner attachments

One-Component Reactive Hot Melt Moisture Cures

  • Pre-applicable: Can apply at place of door construction; eliminates spray booths at Tier One
  • Bond a variety of substrates: These include ABS, carpeting, thermo plastic polyolefin (TPO), vinyl and wood fiber
  • High heat-resistand bonds
  • Multiple applications: For carpet inserts and edge folding

Hot Melts and Pumpable Butyls

  • Low application temperatures: From as low as 250°F (120°C)
  • High cohesive strength
  • ]Excellent low-temperature flexibility: Remain flexible as low as -20°F (-29°C)
  • Cost-effective: Offer excellent performance at cost-effective prices
  • Plasticizer-resistant formula: Butyls only
  • Waterproofing applications: For all watershield applications
